Performances
We run a number of events each year away from the studio, and we treat them as part of the curriculum rather than as extras. Performing builds self-esteem and confidence, and teaches students to hold their nerve under a bit of pressure — though never too much.
Our Annual Show ✨
Our annual show is one of the highlights of the JC Dance Academy year! Each year, our dancers take to the stage at Warrington's Parr Hall, giving every student the opportunity to experience the excitement of performing in a professional theatre environment.
In 2027, we're also incredibly excited to be performing at The Brindley Theatre for the first time, giving our dancers another fantastic performance opportunity and making this our biggest show year yet!
Performing is an important part of what we do at JC. While developing strong technique and progressing in class is important, we believe dance is ultimately a performing art. Being on stage gives our students the chance to put everything they've learned into practice, build confidence, develop their performance skills and experience the amazing feeling of being part of a production.
Our shows aren't about pressure or perfection. They're about performing alongside friends, being part of the JC family and creating memories that our dancers will remember long after they've left the stage. From our littlest dancers experiencing the stage for the first time to our seniors, seeing them grow in confidence year after year is what makes our annual show so special. ✨
Competitions
Students compete nationally in solo, duo and group categories, at every age. Past competitions include Just Dance, UK Street Dance Challenge, Calling U Out and Iconic, among others. The display cabinet in the lobby is filling up fast.
In December 2017 our Dynamix crew were invited to perform at Winter Wonderland at Event City in Manchester — a fantastic opportunity for them.
