Kids classes

From age four upwards, our children's classes split into two broad routes. The graded route — ISTD ballet, tap and modern — leads to examinations accredited by Ofqual, and to festivals and competitions for those who want them. The other route is simply about dancing: street and breakdance crews, and musical theatre.

Plenty of students do both. Neither is treated as the serious one.

Children's ballet

Cecchetti ballet from Pre-Primary through the graded syllabus, with pointe work and competition classes for students who progress that far.

Children's ballet

Street & breakdance

Three crews by age and experience — Lil' Crew from age four, Inter Crew from ten, and the Advanced Crew. Thursday evenings.

Street & breakdance

ISTD modern & tap

Graded modern and tap alongside ballet, from Primary upwards. Examinations are optional and taken when a student is ready, not to a schedule.

Musical theatre

Singing, dancing and acting together, for age eight and above. No prior experience needed — just a willingness to have a go.

Examinations

We enter students for ISTD examinations in Cecchetti ballet, modern and tap. These are Ofqual-accredited qualifications, and for older students they can carry UCAS points. More about ISTD exams.
