Dance classes for 3 and 4 year olds
This is the age where things start to open up. At three, children are usually still in Ballerina Bear or Hip Hop Hippo, now confident going into class on their own. At four, Pre-Primary ballet and Pre-Primary tap become available — the first rung of the graded ISTD syllabus, alongside ISTD modern from Primary.
There is no rush to move up, and no exam waiting at the other end of it: examinations are Ofqual-accredited but entirely optional, only offered once a child turns five and Miss Jenny feels they're ready. JC Dance Academy has a 100% pass rate for students who do take them. More about ISTD exams.

Settling in
A little uncertainty at first is completely normal at this age, and our teachers are used to it — nobody is pushed to join in before they're ready. Uniform, if the class needs one, is something we'll tell you about once your child has settled; nothing is needed to try a class.
